Test Switch with Line Termination

Back to Overview

BS 59*

Product Description and Application
The test switch BS 59* serves for switching off of electrical equipment at all poles and for checking of the electric supply line up to the electrical apparatus being switched off.

It is designed to be fitted to electrical equipment in potentially explosive atmospheres.

The enclosure consists of a right-angle cylinder of brass (width across flats 46 mm) with a screw-in thread (Pg 29 or M 36 x 1.5) inside which a rotary switch with on/off-function is located and sealed off.

The switching mechanism is triggered by an actuator of brass with internal hexagon (width across flats 6 mm). The actuator, a front ring and a cemented and riveted screw lid form flameproof cylindrical gaps and close off the test switch towards the top.

The test switch is connected by means of cables which come out of the sealing compound at the bottom.

As accessory there is a rotation lock with hexagon socket head cap screw, spring washer and O-ring.
